How to copy a TikTok link

The downloader needs the address of one public post. Here is how to copy that link on a phone and on a computer, and how to recognise a link that will not work.

Save content you own or have permission to download.

  • No account required
  • Works in your browser
  • Best available source quality

On the TikTok app

Open the video or slideshow. Tap the Share arrow on the right side of the screen. In the share sheet, choose Copy link. You should see a short confirmation. Then switch to your browser, open TikDownTok, and paste.

If Copy link is missing, scroll the share row sideways. The wording is sometimes Copy link and sometimes Copy. Either one is the post address.

On a computer

Open the post on tiktok.com so the address bar shows a single video or photo. Select that address and copy it. You do not need the Share menu if the full URL is already visible.

A usable video address looks like tiktok.com/@name/video/ followed by a long number. A photo post uses /photo/ and the same kind of number. Extra characters after a question mark are fine.

  • https://www.tiktok.com/@name/photo/1234567890123456789

Links that are not a post

A profile address ends in the username and has no /video/ or /photo/ number. A search, a sound page, a live room, and the For You feed are not one file. Paste those and the downloader cannot pick a video, because there isn’t a single post to fetch.

Copy the link from the post you mean to save, then paste it above. If you copied it days ago and the download fails, copy it again in case the post was deleted or made private.
